Social Scenarios Activity for Speech and Language

Hi speechies!

This week's post I'm sharing an activity that I did with my high schoolers. It was such a hit and elicited SO. MUCH. LANGUAGE!

I used this activity with some of my upper middle schoolers, too!

Here's the way I did it to up the engagement a bit:

I had the group of students line up shoulder to shoulder. I read one of the what would you do if scenario cards. Then I would say 2 clues describing a student. Whichever student I was describing had to run forward grab the card and tell me what they would do in that situation. Then they had to ask one peer what they would do in that same situation.

This hit so many goals: social skills, turn taking, listening and following directions, and like I said, so much language was elicited!

  1. Together with every thing that appears to be building inside this particular subject matter, all your points of view tend to be relatively refreshing. Having said that, I appologize, because I do not subscribe to your entire strategy, all be it stimulating none the less. It seems to everybody that your remarks are generally not entirely justified and in actuality you are generally your self not really fully confident of your point. In any case I did take pleasure in examining it. market research singapore
