4 Year Gratitude Journal for SLPs and Teachers

Hi speechies!

I am SO pumped to share this with y'all! Are you ready?! I give you:

I created a little 4 Year Gratitude + Memory Journal! I'm so proud of how it turned out and I've already started using mine. Here's a little peek:

I wanted a journal that I would actually go back and read/reflect on so I figured I would combine 4 years into one journal! Each day is divided into 4 boxes and each box has a year at the top. You get to fill in 3 things on your gratitude list and a memory from each day for every year! I can't wait to read through years past as I fill in current years.

It all makes more sense if you watch the video below. I explain it all and give you a detailed look inside! Oh and I offer 6 versions of the journal, that way you can start it whenever you purchase it!

You can grab yours in my TpT store. Please note that it is a DIGITAL product. You are not purchasing a hard copy of a journal.

Here is the video to walk you though it:

Enjoy!

Work Hard. Stay Humble. Be Kind. Desktop Background Freebie

Hi speechies!

So I still don't have WiFi at my house which is a bummer BUT that means that when I'm home, I'm spending time editing YouTube videos/creating products in Powerpoint. Which means that y'all get a little freebie today:

I shared a peek at the new desktop that I created for myself on Instagram stories and I got a few DMs asking for it. Here is what it looks like in action on my laptop:

I love cute, clean, and simple. If you'd like to download this image for free, hop on over to my TpT store and grab it!

Note Taking Hack for Grad School

Hi speechies!

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. I don't have Internet at my house due to a bad storm, so I am at a local Starbucks knocking out a research paper for my speech and swallowing disorders class and figured I should get a quick post up for y'all while I have Internet access!

This is such a SIMPLE tip but y'all...it is a GAME CHANGER! Especially if your field of study involves lots of charts and diagrams that you have to memorize (like speech-language pathology does). Are you ready for this?

LAMINATE YOUR NOTES!

That way you can practice filling in charts and diagrams and then erase them to practice again and again. BOOM! You save paper and it keeps your desk/study space less cluttered.

I don't know what took me so long to start doing this but I'll never practice another way. I use this laminator to laminate certain notes at home and then just simply write on the notes with an Expo marker.

Do you have any study hacks to share? Do tell!

the best teacher + grad school bag

Hi speechies!

We just finished boarding up our house and we are heading up the road to stay with family to hunker down for Hurricane Irma. I wanted to get up one last post because I don't know if we'll lose power/how long we'll be out of power. Plus it's a good distraction for me. She's hitting us late tonight/early Monday morning #prayforflorida

I know I already did a "what's in my bag?" video but y'all...

THIS BAG IS EVERYTHING! Or should I say this bag HOLDS everything...seriously. My other bag is cute and wonderful but it just didn't hold everything that I needed it to hold. This baby, on the other hand, is basically a Mary Poppins teacher/grad school bag.

I got it on AMAZON...can you believe it?! You can find it here.

Here are some of the things I have inside:

  • laptop (it has a little soft ouch for your laptop to live)
  • 2 textbooks
  • 1 inch binder
  • 2 clipboards
  • Pencil pouch
  • Toiletry bag
  • Cross body purse
  • Planner
  • External hard drive
SEE?! It holds everything! Perfect for carrying my life to and from school with me ðŸ˜‚

Here is a video of what's in my bag/what the bag looks like inside:

How To Make Your Own Graphic Tees

Hi speechies!

If you are a fellow Floridian my prayers go out to you as we brace ourselves for Hurricane Irma. My family is from the Tampa Bay area and we are prepping the best that we can right now. Stay safe!

I just uploaded a new video to my YouTube channel about how to make your own graphic tees with a Silhouette Cameo (or even a Cricut). It's also a weekly vlog so enjoy!

Here's a list of everything I use to make my tees:
  • Graphic tee (my favorite brand is Bella + Canvas)
  • Vinyl cutting machine (I have a Silhouette Cameo)
  • Heat Transfer Vinyl (I use Siser Easyweed)
  • Heat press (I got mine on Amazon)
  • Sticky mat
  • Weeding tool
  • Tape measure
The video goes into detail about the process. The tee making part is from 0:01-15:46ish.

Keeping Your College Homework Organized + Week in the Life of a Teacher

Hi speechies!

I am in full swing with my SLP graduate program and wanted to share a resource that I created to help myself stay on top of all of my assignments:

You can grab yours by visiting my TpT store or by clicking here.

I like to fill a sheet out at the beginning of each week so I can see how I need to allocate my time each day.  Here is a peek at what my list in action looks like:

I changed the word "class" to a 3 letter acronym that stands for each of my classes:

APD: Articulation and Phonological Disorders
SSD: Speech + Swallowing Disorders
PTO: Professional Tools One

Oh and I posted a new YouTube video this morning, too! It's a week in the life of a teacher/graduate student:

I think that's all I have for today!
